Opening: Desktop Technician

Description

The Desktop Technician role will provide onsite technical support for our client base. Duties will include installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting end user PC hardware, software, printers, and networking products. This role will require the candidate to have confidence in their technical skills as well as requiring the individual to recognize when an issue exceeds their expertise and must be escalated to a network engineer. The right individual will be self motivated and have a high attention to detail. The position will require excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure, in a fast paced environment.

Requirements

• Technical diploma or equivalent certification plus practical experience
• Understanding of computer hardware, software and networks
• Experience with Microsoft desktop products – Windows, Office, etc.
• Ability to present a professional and positive image is a must
• Ability to quickly learn and master new technologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client locations
• Experience in a technical support role is a plus

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, software, printer, and networking hardware products
• Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of basic PC problems
• Escalate support issues to network engineers as needed
• Receive and respond in a timely manner to incoming PC and/or hardware problems
